    The original plans for Parliament included three buildings, which are now known as Centre Block, East Block and West Block. The Centre Block also features a large frontal tower and a round library attached to the back of the building.     We sat in the shade of the East Block on a warm August morning in Ottawa. The capital's Carillon played America the Beautiful as a part of an 'Unofficial Anthems' song selection, after Jamaica Farewell and before the AfricAcadian anthem, Oh, Freedom.
